- "In that case, just who am I?"
- ―Lucas
Lucas (ルーカス, Rūkasu, Lucas[1]) is a character in Rune Factory 5.
Profile[]
Personality[]
An amnesiac gentleman who wandered into town one day. Just about everything piques his interest, and he constantly takes notes on whatever catches his attention. Despite having lost his memories, he's impressively well-versed on many subjects, and can judge the worth of any gemstone without fail.
Appearance[]
Lucas is tall and mature in appearance, with long black hair, thin green eyes, and light stubble on his chin. He dresses very formally, in a purple tailcoat with golden embroidery and a crisp white shirt, over which a necklace with a blue gem hangs. He also wears black dress pants and shiny black boots.
Story[]
Lucas first appears after the player has cleared the Kelve Lava Caves, where he is an amnesiac performing magic tricks such as making objects disappear and reappear. At his own words, he believes himself as "god" when he meets the player, who takes them to SEED to try and help him. Lucas then reveals that he last woke up inside Meline Crystal Caverns, and the player and Livia theorize that Lucas made contact with a Rune Circle and lost his memories as a result.
After the player clears the Meline Crystal Caverns, Lucas becomes a bookkeeper in Heinz's Crystal Shop and has a house near the southern beach. Due to his teleportation ability, the player asks for his help in sending them to Seed's flying base. To regain the memory to do so, Lucas asks the player to bring him to the Thunder Wilderness in order to shock his memory back with lightning. After remembering some of his powers, Lucas is then able to teleport the player undetected to Cloudheim before leaving a portal behind the player's farm.
Once the player returns and needs to go to Calamity's Edge. Although Lucas initially objects as "god" must remain neutral and allow the mortals to solve this matter themselves, the player's pleas eventually win him over as he muses that he broke his own rule of not sympathizing with any mortal. He then creates a second portal to transport the player. Following Radea's capture, Lucas is asked to help the player again by creating a portal to rescue her at Audea.
Events[]
Divine Punishment?[]
The player vists Heinz's store where he is seen haggling with a merchant regarding a special ruby. In the end, Heinz refuses to buy the gem, but Palmo walks in and decides to buy it instead. Before a transaction can be completed, however, Lucas arrives and stops the deal, teleporting the gem to Heinz's pocket, so he can examine it closely. To Lucas' guess, the gem turns out to be counterfeit, and the merchant flees while Palmo thanks Lucas for helping him.
The next day, the player reports the incident to Livia, but it turns out the merchant went to Randolph instead and scammed him for the fake gem, which was spotted by Darroch. Scarlett then sets up a perimeter while the player personally inspects the town for the culprit. Later on, the player spots Lucas performing his disappearing rock trick once again with Yuki, Hina, and Julian. When Yuki believes the thief will receive divine punishment one day, an amused Lucas decides to teleport the rock to a place unknown as he and the player hear a large shout of pain.
When he and the player investigates the cause, it turns out Lucas had dropped the rock on the culprit's head. Believing he was now going crazy, the swindler turns himself in and returns the money he cheated from Randolph. Lucas and the player then opt to keep this little secret between themselves.
